Ankara University is a comprehensive public university located in the capital of the country. Being the first higher education institute of the Republic, it has established a reputable image both within the country and in the international arena, with its vast experience for more than 60 years, its highly qualified academic staff and students, and its well established teaching, learning and research facilities.

During that period, Ankara University has achieved a great progress in the field of education, training and research. Whilst increasing its physical capacity, the university managed to improve its academic quality as well.

In line with the developments of the Bologna Process, Ankara University’s main objective is to become deeply and strongly integrated into the European Higher Education Area. For that aim, Ankara University completed the institutional evaluation process conducted by the European University Association (EUA) in 2005. Academic Evaluation Process has begun and in this framework the Academic Evaluation and Quality Development Council has been established. This council performs strategical planning activities to develop Ankara University in order to raise its quality culture which also encompasses high degree of internationalisation.
