Brief History of European Union Educational Programmes Coordinatorship
Turkey joined the European Union Education and Youth Programs as a “full member” on 1 April 2004. As of 2014, due to its inclusion in the category of program countries, it has gained the right to benefit from all sub-headings with the same status as EU Member States. Until 2006, the community programs known as Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci and Youth were carried out by our Coordinatorship under the name of Lifelong Learning and Youth Programs in the 2007-2013 period and Erasmus+ Program between 2014-2020. As for 2021-2027 Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Programs are implemented within our coordinatorship. Ankara University joined the program as a pilot university in 2003-2004 academic year. The scope of the program comprised , the exchange of students, but of administrative and academic staff excahanges were added in 2007. The program, which was carried out only with EU member states and program countries under the name KA103 between 2003-2020, included third countries not associated to the program under the name KA107 with the 2015-2016 academic year. The name of the program, whose new seven-year period was announced with the 2021-2027 period, has been updated from Erasmus+ KA103 and KA107 to Erasmus+, KA131 and KA171.
Brief History of European Union Projects Office
The European Union Projects Office was established on 25.07.2023 under the EU Education Programs (Erasmus+) Coordinatorship. The European Union Projects Office carries out projects under the Erasmus+ program as well as European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects. With the cooperation of our Coordination Office and Faculties, an application was made for European Solidarity Corps accreditation in June 2023 and accredited as of July 2024.
As of 09.07.2024, the payment transactions of all EU projects at our University were taken over from the BAP Coordinatorship and the transactions are carried out through the Accounting Management System (MYS) of the Integrated Public Financial Management Information System.
